Israel destroys Hezbollah locations in new attack on Lebanon

(MENAFN) Israeli forces have announced the completion of what they described as "targeted operations" aimed at dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure and weapons facilities in southern Lebanon, according to reports.

Hezbollah has yet to respond publicly to the developments.

As outlined in a military statement, one of the raids led to the discovery and destruction of a facility reportedly used by Hezbollah for storing weapons and hosting firing positions.

During another mission, troops uncovered arms concealed in a densely vegetated area in Labbouneh. The hidden arsenal included a multi-barrel launcher, a heavy machine gun, and numerous explosive devices. In addition, soldiers identified and demolished an underground storage unit said to contain more weaponry.

The military stated that these actions were intended to stop Hezbollah from regaining a presence in the region.

Although a ceasefire was agreed upon in November 2024, ending over a year of hostilities along the border, Israel has continued to launch sporadic attacks inside Lebanon.
